Capitalizing on our thin-film formation technique backed by high vacuum technique, we have been working on a way to achieve "manufacturing" embracing added value oriented production systems through our production innovation activities.

The results of such efforts of ours include the following. In the field of storage devices, responding to our customers' demands as quickly as possible, we have provided optimum proposals based on our innovative techniques, thus acquiring No.1 position in the field. In flat panel device and semiconductor manufacturing device businesses, we have brought to the market new products that achieve high productivity based on innovative concepts, thereby earning excellent reputations.

We believe we can be of much help in achieving self-manufacturing of Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display (SED), which is a new line of business of Canon.

We intend to merge our activities into those of Canon while carrying on our business under the current organizational structure for the time being. No significant change will take place, either, in our business relationship with the NEC group.
